In October 2025, I flew out to Montana to photograph one of my best friends getting married at Camelot Ranch in Billings. The whole day fit them perfectly! Cloudy skies, a black wedding dress, and a crowd who came ready to laugh and tear up at the exact same moments.

Hayley walked out in a full black ballgown with detached sleeves, a long train, and a matching black veil, with her "something blue" stitched in to her dress by her sister. Their ceremony was funny, heartfelt, and full of jokes by her officiant. I even got to sign their marriage license- we've been long-distance best friends since early high school, so it was a full-circle moment I didn’t see coming.

While I was in Montana, I also photographed K + A’s engagement session, which reminded me how many couples are leaning into weddings that feel bolder, moodier, and way more personal than the “standard.” So if you’re planning up a Montana elopement, a Billings microwedding, or a black dress wedding, just know you’re not alone- and yes, you can absolutely do it your way!

There are photographers out here (hi, me) who see your vision and know how to shoot it the way it deserves. <3
